Ben Torres

Ben Torres serves as Orff Schulwerk Levels Coordinator and Orff Schulwerk Movement Instructor at VanderCook College of Music while simultaneously working as K-6 music specialist at Brentfield Elementary in Dallas. He directs the Brentfield Singers choir and Rhythm Cats Orff Ensemble at the elementary school, and holds the position of JJ Pearce Area Team Leader. Previously, he served as K-6 music specialist at Richland Elementary where his Orff ensemble performed at the 2011 TMEA Convention.

His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in music education from West Texas A&M University. Torres actively teaches movement in Orff Schulwerk courses at Trinity University and movement/recorder instruction at the University of Central Arkansas, conducting workshops nationwide. He currently presides over the North Texas Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.

Torres specializes in Music Education with deep expertise in Orff Schulwerk methodology, Elementary Music pedagogy, kinesthetic learning through movement, and recorder instruction. His work emphasizes practical application of music education theories in K-6 settings through ensemble direction and teacher training programs.

Professional leadership includes presidency of the North Texas Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and direction of multiple award-winning elementary ensembles. His Richland Elementary Orff ensemble's selection for the 2011 TMEA Convention demonstrates significant impact in music education circles.
