Ben Streetman serves as Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin's College of Engineering. He joined the faculty in 1982 and became dean of the College of Engineering in 1996 while founding the Microelectronics Research Center.

His research centers on semiconductor materials and devices, documented through over 290 technical publications and the seminal textbook Solid State Electronic Devices—translated into Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Polish. - IEEE and Electrochemical Society Fellowships
- IEEE Education Medal for outstanding contributions to engineering pedagogy
Dr. Streetman has mentored 34 Ph.D. candidates across electrical engineering, materials science, and physics disciplines. As founding director of the Microelectronics Research Center, he established a multidisciplinary hub advancing semiconductor fabrication and device characterization capabilities.
