Ben Steeden

Dr Ben Steeden is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational and Business Psychology at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), part of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). He holds a BSc, MSc (Social and Applied Psychology from University of Kent, 2016), and PhD in Social Psychology (2021). His roles include Programme Lead for the Business Psychology MSc and teaching on Occupational Psychology programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

His research focuses on leadership potential, unconscious bias in recruitment, ageism, workplace wellbeing, and positive psychology. Notable projects include investigating pro-youth bias in leadership selection and psychological interventions to improve environmental behavior during the pandemic.

Before academia, he worked in Learning & Development for financial services (15 years) and as a business consultant specializing in positive psychology-based workplace solutions. He previously taught at the University of Kent and contributed to the Centre for the Study of Group Processes.
