Professor Ben Sheldon is a distinguished academic at the University of Oxford, holding the Luc Hoffmann Chair in Field Ornithology and serving as Director of the Edward Grey Institute within the Department of Zoology. His career spans leadership roles, including Head of Department (2016-2021) and Associate Head of Department (2011-2016), alongside significant contributions to editorial boards and advisory committees globally.

Research focuses on Animal Behaviour, Behavioural Ecology, Ornithology, Evolutionary Biology, and Conservation Ecology, integrating field studies with theoretical approaches to understand ecological and evolutionary processes.
