Ben Rayder is an Associate Professor at the Honors College, University of Houston, where he holds dual administrative roles as Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Research, Major Awards, and Learning Abroad/Away, and Executive Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards (OURMA). In this capacity, he spearheads initiatives to increase student awareness of competitive scholarships and fellowships while providing end-to-end application support. Prior to joining UH in 2017, he served as Assistant Director of Fellowships at Drexel University.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Comparative Politics, University of Bamberg
- M.A. in Modern European Studies, University College London
- B.A. in Political Science and German, College of the Holy Cross
Dr. Rayder's research and professional expertise spans Comparative Politics (with regional emphasis on Europe), Political Science theory, German Studies, and Higher Education pedagogy, particularly focusing on undergraduate research development and major award ecosystems. His Fulbright experience deeply informs his commitment to global education frameworks.
