معرفی
Ben Lee is an Assistant Professor in Occupational and Thermal Physiology at Coventry University's Centre for Physical Activity, Sport and Exercise Sciences. His research focuses on exercise physiology, heat stress physiology, and the physiological adaptations during extreme environmental conditions. He has collaborated with military organizations to study physical demands in combat roles and developed interventions to mitigate heat-related health risks in both military and civilian populations.
His educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Exercise Physiology, as evidenced by his 2014 thesis on cross acclimation effects in hypoxia. His work integrates laboratory-based physiological assessments with applied field studies, particularly in military and occupational settings.
Key research themes include heat acclimation protocols, nutritional interventions to reduce exercise-induced gastrointestinal distress, and the physiological mechanisms underlying hypoxic cross-tolerance. Lee's publications span military ergonomics, thermal physiology, and nutritional supplementation strategies.
He currently leads the Centre's research on occupational health in extreme environments and supervises research projects on thermal stress mitigation. His work has been published in high-impact journals such as the European Journal of Sport Science and Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism.
