Ben Jevans

Ben Jevans is a Research Fellow at the University College London (UCL) Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, affiliated with the Developmental Biology & Cancer Dept. His work focuses on the enteric nervous system (ENS), its development, disease mechanisms, and stem cell-based therapies, with a particular emphasis on the gut-brain axis and neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's.

Ben's research explores ENS development, stem cell therapies for spinal cord injury and Hirschsprung disease, and the role of the gut-brain axis in neurodegeneration. He has also investigated pharmacological interventions for Parkinson's disease pathology and bioengineered tissue models.

His recent publications highlight interdisciplinary work spanning neuroscience, developmental biology, and biomedical engineering. Key themes include ENS progenitor transplantation, α-synuclein pathology, computational analysis of neural structures, and biomaterials for stem cell applications.
