Ben Fenton-Smith is Associate Professor at Griffith University's School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science, specializing in English language education and internationalization. With a PhD in Linguistics (Macquarie University), his research examines language policy, EMI implementation, and academic literacy.
He received multiple teaching awards including Griffith's Excellence in Teaching Award (2011) and the International Education Association's Excellence Award (2013) for developing Griffith's English Language Enhancement Strategy. Current projects analyze Australian international education policy and oral assessment frameworks.
Professional roles include Director of International for Arts, Education and Law (2020-2024) and Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia.
