Ben Couture is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at Northumbria University. He holds a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture & Design from Nottingham Trent University (2000-2004). His research focuses on built environment design, digital/spatial exhibitions, art-architecture intersections, and modular construction methodologies. He maintains active practice through 3rdSpace Modular, a system featured in RIBA Publications and global media like the Wall Street Journal.
Before academia, he founded Jardine Couture Ltd (15 years) designing furniture and spatial projects for museums and corporate clients. Current roles include Director of 3rdSpace (Sawhorse Ltd) and committee member of Northumbria's Research & Knowledge Exchange group. His work bridges academic research with professional practice through design-led methodologies.
