Ben Beachy is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Information Systems at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU). He holds a BS in Computer Science and Biblical Studies (2002) and an MBA (2009), both from EMU. Since 2002, he has worked in EMU's Information Systems department, contributing to technological initiatives such as emergency notification systems and portal development. Beachy co-founded the Shenandoah Valley Community School, a non-profit alternative school, and has been actively involved in church and community service roles, including chaplaincy at the Harrisonburg Men’s Diversion Center and board memberships in local organizations.
His professional service includes roles on EMU committees such as the Quality Enhancement Program Implementation Team, Instructional Technology and Distance Learning Committee, and Web Work Team. He has presented at conferences like Jenzabar Annual Meeting (JAM) and the CCCU Conference on Technology and Finance, focusing on topics like institutional effectiveness, database systems, and emergency management.
Beachy has taught courses such as CS 270a (Databases and Information Management) and CIS 251a (Management Information Systems). He maintains involvement in community projects, balancing his academic and professional roles with family life in Harrisonburg.
