Bellou Fotini serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, and directs the UNESCO Chair on Women, Peace and Security, highlighting her leadership in gender-inclusive security policy.
Her academic credentials include:
- BA in Political Science and Public Administration (major: International Relations) from the Law School of the University of Athens
- MA in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom
- PhD in International Relations from the Department of War Studies, King's College London, United Kingdom
Her research spans Contemporary Strategy, Transatlantic Relations, and European Security and Defence with critical emphasis on Crisis Management, Strategic Communication, and the Women, Peace and Security agenda. This work integrates gender perspectives into security frameworks and informs her scholarly publications across books and journals.
She teaches specialized courses including Conflict Resolution, International Diplomacy and Crisis Management, Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communication, and dedicated modules on Women, Peace and Security, alongside Strategic Studies through the HNDGS Chair in Strategic Studies "Thucydides" program.
