Belal Yousif is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland (Australia), with over 25 years of academic and research experience. Previously, he held an Associate Professor position at the University of Nottingham (2008–2010). He specializes in sustainable materials, tribology, and mechanical design.

- PhD in Engineering from Multimedia University, 2008
Research Focus:
- Sustainable materials: Recyclable composites, waste-based lubricants, eco-friendly polymers
- Tribology: Wear mechanisms, friction reduction, bio-lubricants
- Energy systems: Solar thermal collectors, hydrogen energy
- Composite materials: Natural fibers, nanomaterials, waste ceramic utilization
