Belal Ahmad is an Imperial College Research Fellow at the Department of Surgery and Cancer within the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London. His research focuses on the development of dexterous endoscopic microrobots and high-speed sensing and actuation for minimally invasive medical operations.
- Education: Ph.D. (2019) and M.Sc. (2015) in Engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan.
Research Interests: Spanning microrobotics, high-speed robotic platforms for single-cell observation, optothermal and magnetic microrobots for micromanipulation, and motion tracking of multi-DOF nanopositioners. His work intersects with Control Systems, Robotics and Automation, and Microtechnology.
Academic Positions: Post-doctoral researcher at FEMTO-ST Institute, France (2019–2023); Research assistant at Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan (2014–2015, 2018–2019).
