Beixi Zhou is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in microeconomic theory with a focus on dynamic games. She holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University. Her research examines strategic interactions in dynamic environments, including disclosure timing, coordination under uncertainty, and legal causation mechanisms. She teaches advanced courses such as Topics in Game Theory and Advanced Microeconomic Theory at the PhD level, alongside an undergraduate Game Theory course.
Her research explores how agents strategically manage information flow in dynamic settings, such as delayed disclosure exacerbating information asymmetry, and how observational learning drives coordination in investment decisions. Collaborative work with Keith Hylton analyzes legal negligence standards and court incentives. Her work bridges theoretical models with real-world applications in law and institutional design.
