Beiwen Li

Dr. Beiwen Li is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Georgia. Previously, he held positions at Iowa State University as an Assistant and Associate Professor, including the William and Virginia Binger Endowed Professorship. His research focuses on high-speed 3D optical sensing, with applications in manufacturing and remanufacturing processes. His work has been featured in top journals like Optics Express and Applied Optics.

Dr. Li’s expertise spans optical metrology, additive manufacturing, and robotics. He has developed advanced techniques in structured light scanning, fringe projection profilometry, and hyperspectral imaging. His lab has secured funding from NSF, REMADE Institute, DOE, and industrial partners.
