Becki Tate serves as an Adjunct Instructor of American Sign Language in the Department of Languages and Cultures, College of Arts and Sciences, at Bethel University. She began her tenure at Bethel in 2017 after a 12-year teaching career in the Anoka-Hennepin school district.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a Pre-primary endorsement from Bethel College (2003) and a Master of Arts in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education from the University of Minnesota (2005).
Tate's professional focus encompasses American Sign Language instruction, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education, and Special Education. She holds multiple state teaching licenses: American Sign Language, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (oral and sign), Work Coordinator, and Elementary Education (preschool). Her expertise bridges language education, early childhood special education, and vocational coordination.
In her role at Bethel, Tate teaches American Sign Language courses and Introduction to Academic Instruction for Exceptional Learners. She also supervises student teachers during their practicum experiences, providing guidance in classroom instruction for diverse learners.
