Becca Leffell Koren

Becca Leffell Koren is a Senior Lecturer at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis. She teaches in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design and Bachelor of Arts in Design programs. Her work focuses on typography-driven design for publications and exhibitions, with a multidisciplinary approach spanning art, architecture, and cultural projects.

Education: MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design (2011?), BFA in Communication Design from Washington University in St. Louis (Sam Fox School). Professional experience includes roles at the Israel Museum (Jerusalem), RISD Museum (Providence), and This Is Our Work (New York).

Research interests emphasize typography as a core medium, exploring intersections between visual communication, urban studies, and cultural critique. Recent projects include the award-winning Humans of St. Louis (2023) and the artist's book Whereas Hoops (2022), examining urban planning disparities in Forest Park.
