Beatriz Pastor is a Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature at Dartmouth College. She specializes in Latin American literatures, colonial studies, transatlantic studies, and utopian/posthuman frameworks. Her career spans decades, marked by leadership roles such as founding director of the Dartmouth Institute on New Directions in Latin American Literature and Criticism (1988-1993) and ongoing membership in Brown University's Proyecto Trasatlántico since 1992.

Awards include the prestigious Casa de las Américas Essay Prize (1983) and the Rosenwald Endowed Professorship (1987).
