Beatriz Pastor

Beatriz Pastor is a Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature at Dartmouth College. She specializes in Latin American literatures, colonial studies, transatlantic studies, and utopian/posthuman frameworks. Her career spans decades, marked by leadership roles such as founding director of the Dartmouth Institute on New Directions in Latin American Literature and Criticism (1988-1993) and ongoing membership in Brown University's Proyecto Trasatlántico since 1992.

Awards include the prestigious Casa de las Américas Essay Prize (1983) and the Rosenwald Endowed Professorship (1987). She coordinates the annual Jornadas Trasatlánticas in Spain and serves on the editorial board of Revista de Crítica Literaria Latinoamericana.
