Beate Wiesinger

Beate Wiesinger, born in 1986, is a Professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) since September 2024. A bassist and musician based in Vienna, she is renowned for her interdisciplinary approach to music, blending genres and exploring improvisation through performance, composition, and ensemble collaborations.

Her research and artistic practice focus on improvisation, cross-genre sound experimentation, and contemporary ensemble performance. She founded the innovative band ECHO BOOMER, merging diverse sound languages and forms of expression, which received the Austrian Jazz Prize for Best Album in 2024.

Collaborations include work with artists such as Astrid Wiesinger (Duo 4675), Florian Sighartner, Clemens Sainitzer (Luchs), Alois Eberl, Philipp Jagschitz, Michał Wierzgoń, and international musicians like Hamid Drake and Joachim Badenhorst.
