Dr. Beata Kanarek is a Senior Lecturer and currently serves as Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin. She holds a Ph.D. in legal theory from the University of Szczecin (2003), focusing on legal interpretation and semiotics. Her academic roles include overseeing educational policies, curriculum development, and student affairs at the faculty level.
Dr. Kanarek has held multiple administrative positions: Vice-Dean for Full-time Studies (2005–2012), Vice-Dean for Student Affairs (2016–2019), acting Dean (2019–2020), and currently chairs the Anti-Mobbing Committee at the University of Szczecin. She is also the Rector's representative for internships and socio-economic cooperation, and coordinates the Law Department team and the 'LexUS' Scientific Club.
Her research focuses on legal theory, semiotics in law, and interpretation methodologies. Key topics include legal language, normative theory, and the integration of Polish legal thought. She teaches courses on jurisprudence and ethics of legal professions, mentoring diploma seminars in these areas.
Her publications span legal theory and methodology, with notable works exploring the theoretical foundations of legal derogation, comparative interpretation frameworks, and the role of semiotics in legal discourse. She actively contributes to academic committees and institutional governance, emphasizing ethical and inclusive educational practices.
