Prof. Dr. Bea Bloh serves as Professor of School Pedagogy for Secondary Level I at Paderborn University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Institute of Educational Science since October 2017. She maintains an active research and teaching profile focused on teacher education and school development.
Her academic career includes previous positions as Academic Senior Councilor (2016-2017) and Academic Councilor (2010-2016) at Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster's Institute of Educational Science. She earned her doctorate from Technical University Dortmund in 2006 and completed her Diploma in Education in 2000.
Prof. Bloh's research centers on evidence orientation in teacher education, practical phases in teacher training, democracy education, and school leadership. Her work examines how teacher candidates develop professional competence through practical experiences and how political education can be effectively integrated into teacher preparation programs.
Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the professionalization of teachers during their traineeship phase, with particular attention to evidence-based practice, democratic learning opportunities, and the relationship between practical experience and professional development.
She serves as a reviewer for numerous prestigious educational research venues including:

Prof. Bloh currently teaches courses in Professionalization and Evaluation and Practical Research, continuing her commitment to developing evidence-based approaches in teacher education. Her office is located at Warburger Str. 100, 33098 Paderborn, Room H6.316, with office hours held via Zoom during the Winter term 2024/25 on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5:30pm.
