Basia Musik-Moltchanov is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Pedagogy at the University of Delaware's Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures within the College of Arts & Sciences. She teaches Spanish language courses and specializes in methods of teaching world languages, curriculum design, and teacher training. Since 2010, she has directed study abroad programs in Argentina, Costa Rica, and Spain, emphasizing cultural immersion and pedagogical practice.
She holds an M.A. from Wilmington University and an Ed.D. from the University of Delaware. Her professional roles include serving as Delaware State Representative for the National Network for Early Language Learning and board member of the Delaware World Language Teacher Leader Network.
Her research focuses on enhancing language teacher support, K-16 curriculum alignment, and recruitment in world language education. Notable grants include $65,513 for a study abroad program in Spain and $35,513 for a pilot program. She regularly presents at conferences like ACTFL and NECTFL, addressing topics such as communicative task design and equity in language learning.
