Basak Gurel

Basak Gurel is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Sciences. Her research focuses on areas within Mathematics, including Applied Mathematics, Nonlinear Analysis, and Dynamical Systems. She has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the COS Dean’s Distinguished Researcher Award, and the Rising Star Award.

• Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
