Bas Geboers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Medical Sciences and University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). His research focuses on health literacy, public health interventions, and the relationship between health knowledge and outcomes across the lifespan.
Geboers investigates how health literacy influences self-management capabilities, health behaviors, and chronic disease outcomes in vulnerable populations. His work employs longitudinal cohort studies and interventional designs to examine health literacy impacts on cognitive function in aging populations, chronic disease management, and global health disparities.
Recent publications demonstrate methodological rigor with psychometric validation studies (2024), cross-cultural health literacy assessments (2021), and life course epidemiology approaches (2018).
