Barış KÖMÜR

Assistant Professor Barış KÖMÜR is a faculty member at Kastamonu University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Eye Diseases, specialising in ophthalmology with a focus on glaucoma, cataract surgery, and ocular imaging. He trained at Ege University (MD, 2006) and completed his specialty in Eye Diseases at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (2013).

Research Interests:

• Glaucoma pathophysiology and imaging, especially optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A).
• Cataract surgical techniques and management of complicated cases.
• Ocular surface disease and tear-film diagnostics.
• Corneal pathology and refractive surgery outcomes.

His 41 peer-reviewed publications and numerous conference presentations reveal a consistent trajectory in clinical ophthalmology and ocular imaging research, with particular emphasis on quantitative retinal vascular analysis, normative database validation for Turkish populations, and innovative surgical strategies. The absence of recorded projects, patents, or awards in the current dataset does not diminish his active scholarly output.

Supervision & Academic Service:

• Primary supervisor for one medical-specialty thesis (Türker Oba, 2019).
• Active member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons since 2009.
