Bartholomeus Van Meerbeek is a full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of KU Leuven, where he serves as the Department Chair of the Department of Oral Health Sciences and heads the Biomaterials - BIOMAT research unit. He is also a member of the Leuven Institute for Additive Manufacturing (Leuven.AM) and participates in multiple academic committees, including the Biomedical Sciences Group Assessment Committee and the Faculty Council of Medicine.
