معرفی
Bart Vanaudenaerde is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, KU Leuven, affiliated with the Department of Chronic Diseases and Metabolism and the Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases and Thoracic Surgery (BREATHE). His work bridges clinical research, computational modeling, and translational immunology in lung transplantation.
- Member of the Faculty Council and Departmental Council
- Key contributor to iSi Health (In Silico Health Institute)
Research focuses on lung transplantation, pulmonary microcirculation, and small airway dynamics, with projects integrating immunology, aging biology, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Recent work explores donor-specific antibodies, graft acceptance, and in silico drug discovery for fibrotic diseases. Publications span transplant immunology, pulmonary hypertension, and chronic lung allograft dysfunction, often leveraging high-resolution micro-CT and longitudinal animal modeling.
Teaches immunology courses (e.g., U02C3A Immunologie, E0I67A Immunologie: van verdediging tot tolerantie). Collaborates across disciplines, including computational modeling and cystic fibrosis pathophysiology.
