Bart Mennink

Bart Mennink is an Associate Professor in the Digital Security Group at Radboud University, the Netherlands. His research focuses on cryptology, particularly symmetric cryptography, provable security, and cryptographic protocols. His work includes foundational contributions to hash functions and authenticated encryption modes. He holds an NWO Vidi grant and has held prior positions including NWO Veni postdoc researcher at Radboud and FWO postdoc at KU Leuven.

• Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering (KU Leuven, 2013), MSc in Mathematics (TU Eindhoven, 2009), BSc in Mathematics (TU Eindhoven, 2007).
• Grants/Awards: NWO Vidi (2023), Best Paper Awards at FSE 2025 and CANS 2012, multiple program committee roles at top conferences (CRYPTO, ASIACRYPT, etc.).

Research interests include cryptographic protocol security, leakage resilience, and post-quantum cryptography. He has advised multiple PhD students and co-organizes events like GelreCrypt 2025 and Applied Cryptography Courses. Teaching includes courses on cryptography and combinatorics.
