Bart Keymeulen

Bart Keymeulen is a Full Professor of Medicine at the Free University of Brussels, serving as Head of the Diabetes Clinic & Clinical Trial Center at UZ Brussels, Head of the Diabetes Research Cluster, and Head of the Diabetes Biobank associated with the Belgian Diabetes Registry.

Key projects include SRP96: Biological Platform for Early Detection of Type 1 Diabetes and FWOSB115: Predicting Beta Cell Loss. He leads the EUROGCT consortium for gene and cell therapy communication.

Recent publications highlight Continuous Glucose Monitoring for risk prediction, Tandem Control-IQ technology for glycemic management, and non-HLA polymorphisms in preclinical diabetes progression. His work spans genetic markers, metabolic disorders, and translational research.
