Barry Shank

Barry Shank is a Distinguished Professor of Comparative Studies and Director of the Humanities Institute at The Ohio State University's College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on Capitalism and Sentiment, Cultural Theory, Popular Music, and American Studies, with notable works like The Political Force of Musical Beauty and A Token of My Affection: Greeting Cards and American Business Culture.
