Barry Devereux

Dr. Barry Devereux is a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Speech, Language, and the Brain (CSLB) within the Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge. He holds a PhD from University College Dublin (2007), focusing on conceptual combination and noun-noun compound interpretation.

His research explores the neural and computational bases of semantic representation, emphasizing:

• Lexical and object processing in distributed semantic systems
• Statistical regularities in conceptual structure
• Application of multi-voxel pattern analysis (MVPA) to fMRI data
• Integration of computational linguistics with neurocognitive studies
