Barrie Raik, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University. She currently works part-time at the Center on Aging, supporting colleagues in patient care. Her career spans roles at Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine, where she specialized in geriatrics and palliative medicine. Dr. Raik completed her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and her residency in Internal Medicine there. She served as Fellowship Program Director of the Weill Cornell Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine from 1999 to 2014 before retiring in 2021, later returning in 2023.
Her research and clinical focus centers on geriatric care, particularly home-based care for elderly populations, as demonstrated by her work in Washington Heights. She has dedicated her career to improving care for aging patients through both clinical practice and academic leadership.
