معرفی
Barbora Trubenová is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Systems Science, ETH Zurich, and a Group Leader at Eawag (Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology). Her research focuses on theoretical evolutionary biology, particularly mathematical modeling of biological processes like antibiotic resistance evolution, social behavior dynamics, and adaptation in fluctuating environments.
- Education: PhD in Computational and Evolutionary Biology (University of Manchester, 2014), MSc in Biophysics (Comenius University, 2009), Bc in Biology and Physics (Comenius University, 2008).
Her work bridges population genetics, quantitative genetics, and evolutionary computation, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and empirical integration. Recent projects model antibiotic resistance in biofilms and pathogen evolution, leveraging machine learning for predictive frameworks.
Scientific Awards:
- Swiss National Science Foundation Starting Grant (2024)
- Dean's Prize at Comenius University (2009)
Trubenová actively contributes to science education through initiatives like the Selected Topics in Evolutionary Biology seminar for Slovak high school students and co-founding the NGO eduB, promoting experimental learning and evolutionary connections in contemporary biology.
