Barbara Weinlich is an Instructor at Arizona State University's School of International Letters and Cultures. She holds a Ph.D. in Classical Philology from Goethe University Frankfurt and has taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on Late Republican and proto-Imperial Latin poetry, Classical Reception, Latin Epigraphy, Literary Theory, and interdisciplinary environmental studies of antiquity.

Her work explores the political dimensions of Latin poetry, particularly Propertius' elegies, and the environmental and geographic metaphors in classical texts. Dr. Weinlich has authored or contributed to books including Political Metaphor in Propertius and Ovids Amores, with a current book project on mapping political allegiance in Roman poetry.
Her service includes roles with the Classical Association of the Middle-West and South (CAMWS), American Classical League (ACL), and Society for Classical Studies (SCS). She emphasizes outreach to schools and communities, promoting classical education and engagement.
Teaching encompasses courses on Greek and Roman mythology, Latin language, and interdisciplinary studies of classical literature's environmental contexts.
