Barbara Tavazzi is a Full Professor of Biochemistry at UniCamillus since 2021. Previously, she served as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome (2001–2021). She holds a Master’s in Medicine and Surgery from Universities in Rome and Venice, and a PhD in Biochemistry. Her primary affiliation is with the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry. She concurrently serves as First Level Assistant Director for the Operational Unit Analysis I (Clinical Chemistry) at Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli-IRCCS.
Her research focuses on biochemistry, metabolism, metabolomics, neurochemistry, and clinical chemistry. She has published 167 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact Q1/Q2 journals, 10 book chapters, and over 185 conference abstracts. She reviews for top journals like Antioxidants and evaluates international research projects for MIUR.
She is a member of the MIUR Roll of Reviewers for European Research Council Sectors LS1_2 (General biochemistry), LS2_4 (Metabolomics), and LS5_3 (Neurochemistry).
