Barbara Pendzich is a Researcher at the Department of Jewish Studies, University of Wrocław. She holds a PhD in History from Georgetown University (1998), focusing on the Polish-Russian War of 1654 under Andrzej Sulima Kamiński. Her research spans Eastern European history, Jewish Studies, and citizenship identity, supported by grants from Fulbright, IREX, and the Stefan Batory Foundation. She previously served as Deputy Director at Lazarski University’s Institute of Civic Space and collaborated with the Bente Kahan Foundation (2010–2017). Her co-edited work Citizenship and Identity in a Multinational Commonwealth honors Professor Kamiński. Activism includes roles in Solidarity’s Coordination Office abroad (1980s).
