Dr. Barbara Mihók is a Researcher at the Institute of Ecological Economics within the University of Szeged. She has served as a Senior Researcher and Research Task Leader in projects like SASMob - Smart Alliance for Sustainable Mobility (2018-2021) and PERARES (FP7-SiS, 2010-2014).
Her research focuses on the intersection of conservation, sustainability, and social justice, emphasizing participatory action research and the relationship between nature and human well-being. Keywords include: nature and society, vulnerable communities, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement.
Recent publications analyze ecosystem services, participatory methods, and historical trends in biodiversity. She also contributes to edited volumes, such as Environmental Futures Research - Hungary 2050.
Her teaching includes Environmental Economics at the undergraduate level and Local Economic Development for Master’s students. She previously led the AKUT Association (2012-2020), focusing on marginalized communities.
