Barbara Hemforth is a CNRS Research Director at the Laboratoire de Linguistique Formelle (LLF, UMR 7110) affiliated with Paris Diderot University. With a career spanning cognitive science, linguistics, and psychology, she has held leadership roles in major research initiatives including Labex EFL (2011–2024) and the InIdex project at UPCité since 2025. Her expertise bridges experimental grammar, speech processing, and cognitive modeling.

Her research focuses on interdisciplinary intersections between psychology, linguistics, and cognitive neuroscience, particularly in information processing and speech/language dynamics. She has contributed to experimental grammar frameworks and large-scale research projects like Labex EFL.
