Barbara Barysz

Dr. Barbara Barysz serves as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences (IFiS PAN) in Warsaw. She is an active member of the Philosophy of Culture and Politics Research Team and holds additional roles as a member of the Centre for Psychoanalytic Thought and the editorial secretary for the journal "wunderBlock. Psychoanalysis and Philosophy".

Her academic journey includes completing doctoral studies at the Graduate School for Social Research. This foundational training has equipped her with interdisciplinary methodologies that inform her current research endeavors.

Dr. Barysz specializes in applying psychoanalytic theory to dissect political discourses, examining how unconscious dynamics influence public narratives and ideological formations. Her interdisciplinary approach uniquely positions her at the crossroads of psychoanalysis, political theory, and cultural studies, contributing to nuanced understandings of contemporary political phenomena through the lens of the unconscious.
