Bala Dharan

Bala Dharan is the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas Visiting Professor in Corporate Finance Law and Senior Lecturer at Harvard Law School. He has taught at HLS since 2008 and holds concurrent roles as J. Howard Creekmore Professor Emeritus at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, Visiting Professor at MIT Sloan School of Management, and Managing Director at Berkeley Research Group. His expertise spans accounting, corporate law, finance, and litigation consulting.

His work addresses financial reporting, litigation consulting, and corporate finance dynamics. Notable publications include studies on goodwill impairments and post-listing stock return trends.

Recognition: Testified thrice before the U.S. Congress on financial matters and recognized in the International Who’s Who for Litigation and Commercial Arbitration. Holds CPA, ABV, and CFF certifications.

Roles: Active in teaching courses like Business Valuation and Introduction to Accounting at Harvard Law School. Advises on litigation, arbitration, and valuation matters globally.
