Baird Jarman is the David and Marian Adams Bryn-Jones Distinguished Teaching Professor of the Humanities and Professor of Art History at Carleton College, where he has taught since 2002. His research interrogates nineteenth-century American visual culture, spanning Gilded Age satire, Civil War reportage, Progressive Era mural painting, and early motion pictures.
