Baihan Lin is a tenure-track professor in AI, psychiatry, and neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, directing the Bytes of Minds Lab. He holds a PhD in computational systems biology from Columbia University and master's degrees in applied mathematics, data visualization, and cellular molecular biophysics from University of Washington, Parsons School of Design, and Columbia University. His research focuses on trustworthy Neuro-AI, computational psychiatry, and real-world applications of deep learning, NLP, and reinforcement learning to improve clinical interactions for neuropsychiatric patients. Notable awards include Bell Labs Prize and XPRIZE finalist recognitions.
Industry experience spans Google, IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, and BGI, with over 50 publications and patents. Lin's work bridges neuroscience-inspired AI with mental health support, advancing empathetic AI systems. He actively chairs conferences, serves on editorial boards, and teaches globally on technology-society intersections.
