Prof. Bahar Güntekin is a Professor of Biophysics at Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine. She earned her Ph.D. in biophysics from Dokuz Eylül University (2006). Her research focuses on cognitive functions and dementia using EEG analysis, particularly brain oscillations in Alzheimer’s and related disorders. She chairs the Alzheimer’s Association’s ISTAART Electrophysiology Professional Interest Area and serves on editorial boards of journals like Scientific Reports and International Journal of Psychophysiology. Notable awards include the Roy John Award (2023) and TÜBA’s Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2015).
