Badri Adhikari

Badri Adhikari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), where he has taught since 2017. He earned his PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2017 and a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, in 2009. His research interests span Explainable AI, health informatics, bioinformatics, and AI applications in education.

Research Interests: Dr. Adhikari focuses on Explainable AI (XAI), health informatics (e.g., skin cancer detection), bioinformatics (protein structure prediction), and AI-driven educational tools like Process Feedback. His work emphasizes understanding AI’s decision-making processes and fostering ethical learning in the AI era.

Grants & Funding: Supported by NVIDIA, Google, NASA, and the NSF, including a 2024 CooperVision grant ($100K) for orthokeratology lens fitting predictions and a 2020 NASA grant ($256K) for autonomous environmental monitoring systems.
