Babak Somekh is a Lecturer at the Bert W. Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance within the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College (City University of New York). He holds a PhD and MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, an MA in Economics from New York University, and a BS in Economics and Information Systems from Stern School of Business at NYU.
His research focuses on the Economics of Inequality, Finance, and Economics Pedagogy. Recent studies include analyses of racial inequality in sports economics, income inequality impacts on banking access and consumer markets, and corporate finance dynamics. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Population Economics and Journal of International Business Studies.
Based on his article titles and expertise, his work spans Behavioral Economics, Financial Systems, and Urban Economics. Key subfields include Labor Economics, Market Regulation, and Educational Techniques.
