BRAN BARRAL BUCETA

BRAN BARRAL BUCETA is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and Sociology, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Santiago de Compostela. He is affiliated with the Institute of Studies and Development of Galicia (IDEGA) and part of the ISOPOLIS research group focusing on social research and public policies. His doctoral thesis (2021), supervised by Dr. Isabel Diz Otero and Dr. Ramón Bouzas Lorenzo, explored 'Actors, coalitions and implementation in eHealth policies between continuity and innovation.'

His research interests center on digital divides, social exclusion, health equity, and public policy analysis, particularly in eHealth systems. He also investigates metropolitan governance and gender-related policy frameworks in Spain. His work bridges sociological theory with practical policy evaluation, emphasizing marginalized communities' access to technology and healthcare services.

Notable contributions include studies on eHealth service disparities between general and vulnerable populations in Spain, digital exclusion in informal settlements, and governance challenges in metropolitan areas like Vigo. He has co-authored analyses on Spain's pandemic preparedness through health legislation and gender gaps in technology access.

BRAN BUCETA collaborates with the ARMELA network on equality and social rights, and actively participates in conferences like the Cátedra de Brecha Digital Generacional.
