BOULLOSA JOLY Maïté

Maïté Boullosa Joly is a Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV), Amiens, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences. She is a researcher at CURAPP-ESS (UMR 7319, CNRS) and an associate researcher at the HM (Habiter le Monde) laboratory. Her academic work integrates teaching, field research, and innovative pedagogical practices.

Her research interests center on indigenous movements and identity politics in northwest Argentina, socio-environmental conflicts related to mining, multicultural policies, and the anthropology of tourism and heritage. Since 2015, she has also investigated alternative ecological and political collectives in southern Aveyron, France. She emphasizes relational fieldwork and long-term ethnographic engagement.

Her recent publications explore themes such as the ethnicization of agrarian conflicts, indigenous political trajectories, the silencing of leaders by mining companies, and the role of photography in ethnographic research. Her work appears in journals like Civilisations, Cahiers des Amériques Latines, and Regions and Cohesion.

She has received the 2019 National Educational Innovation Award (PEPS) for her work integrating web documentaries into field internships. She has coordinated special issues on multicultural policies, backpacking tourism, and utopian collectives.

Boullosa Joly has supervised numerous field internships with undergraduate students in locations including Morocco, Turkey, Normandy, and coastal France. She is actively involved in academic editorial work, serving on the editorial boards of Civilisations, Problèmes d’Amérique Latine, and Nuevo Mundo, Mundos nuevos.

She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from EHESS, Paris, and has been a faculty member at UPJV since 2007.
