Professor Berna Balci Izgi is a distinguished academic at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, where she serves in the Department of Economics with a specialization in Economic Theory. With over two decades of academic experience, she has progressed through the ranks from Assistant Professor (2004-2015) to Associate Professor (2015-2019) and currently holds the position of Professor since 2021.

She has conducted extensive research on Turkey's economic development in relation to international markets and energy policies.

Professor Balci Izgi has served in various administrative roles including Head of Department (2018-2019) and Vice Dean (2005-2008) at Gaziantep University. She is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Turkish Economic Association and the Association of Women Economists.
Her advisory work encompasses numerous master's theses on diverse topics including income inequality, pandemic effects on household behavior, energy import policies, and women's entrepreneurship.
