B.J. Yoblinski

B.J. Yoblinski serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences at Appalachian State University, where he has been a core faculty member since 1997.

His academic credentials include:

Dr. Yoblinski's research program focuses on designing chromophoric rhenium polypyridyl complexes, bridging fundamental inorganic synthesis with photochemical applications. This work spans coordination chemistry principles, light-harvesting material development, and spectroscopic characterization of transition metal complexes.

He teaches foundational courses including CHE 1101/1102 (Introductory Chemistry), CHE 1110/1120 (Chemistry Labs), CHE 2530 (Descriptive Inorganic Chemistry), and coordinates teaching assistants through CHE 2535.

Outside academia, he maintains 300+ hours as an Instrument Rated Pilot, emphasizes family commitments as a husband and father, and actively supports University of Kentucky athletics.
