Professor Azrini Wahidin is the Head of School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on penal policy, transitional justice, and the experiences of marginalized groups in carceral systems. Key areas include former female combatants, LGBT+ prisoners, and elders in prison. She holds prestigious awards including Fellowship of the British Academy and the National Teaching Excellence Award in Criminology (2015).
Wahidin has authored/co-authored over 17 books, including Ex-Combatants' Voices: Transitioning from War to Peace (2021) and Ex-Combatants, Gender and Peace in Northern Ireland (2016).
